Most recent research attributes the text of the Meck Dec to Dr. Ephraim Brevard who was one of the three men commissioned to document the sense of the May 19th meeting, Brevard, William Kennon, a lawyer, and Rev. Hezekiah James Balch.   They worked overnight to produce six statements or Resolves that expressed the consensus of the meeting.
